New Series of Sé mo Laoch starts on TG4 on February 26th at 9.30pm
Sé mo Laoch, the documentary series produced by Dingle production company Sibéal Teo, returns to TG4 for its sixth series on Sunday February 26th at 9.30pm. The series casts an eye on some of Irish traditional music’s heroes with contributions from many of the seminal figures in the tradition. Subjects of this series include Mary Bergin, Ann Mulqueen, Kevin Henry, Jackie Daly & Antóin MacGabhann.
The opening programme looks at the life and career of the fiddle player Sean Keane, who spent 50 years travelling the world with The Chieftains and has 6 Grammy awards to his name. Sé mo Laoch takes a look at his life and music and finds out why he is known as the Heaney of the Irish fiddle tradition, with guests such as Paddy Glackin, Liam O’Connor, Seán Óg Potts & Sean McKeon.
