‘Sounds of Semple' Song & Video Launched by Music Generation Tipperary
Sounds of Semple by the children of Music Generation Tipperary now available on all digital platforms.

'Sounds of Semple' is a project of Music Generation Tipperary which has been in the works for over two years, involving participation from 200 primary school children from St Colmcille's and St Joesph's NS Templemore. Under the directorship of Dr Aidan O'Donnell, Director of Music Generation Tipperary, the children have been working with Peter O'Toole of The Hot House Flowers and music educator Niamh Fenton, to reimagine the game of hurling into a form of musical expression. The resulting song and accompanying video was officially launched on May 3rd at The Templemore Arms Hotel.

Speaking at the launch, National Director of Music Generation, Rosaleen Molloy commented:

I am genuinely thrilled to experience the culmination of the collaborative efforts between the young musicians of Music Generation Tipperary and their Musicians Educators. Together, they have crafted an exceptional anthem that not only encapsulates the vibrancy, camaraderie, and energy found in both music and sport but also beautifully captures the spirit and culture of local communities. I have no doubt that this creation will swiftly evolve into an anthem embraced across the communities of Tipperary.

Dr Aidan O'Donnell, Director of Music Generation Tipperary explained:
We are so excited to launch this track here today, and the feeling around the community about it is really special. It seems to have struck a chord (pardon the pun!) with everyone involved, particularly the children, because they have had so much ownership over the process. It’s a coming together of all that’s good about Music Generation and also the GAA, and at its centre is that message of inclusivity; that it is the heart of the community, and that is exactly what this project aims to be. And I think when the Tipperary Haka does the rounds later in the week on social media, that will be very clear!
