The Elva MacGowan Ensemble
Soprano Elva MacGowan is delighted to perform in The John Field Room at The National Concert Hall, singing some of her favourite ballads made famous by her favourite singers including Doris Day, Margaret Whiting, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Al Bowlly, Edith Piaf, Linda Ronstadt, Neil Young, Patsy Cline and many more.
Launching her debut EP ‘Close Your Eyes’, Elva will be accompanied by four of the finest musicians in Dublin - Bill Blackmore on trumpet, Dave Fleming on double bass, Sarah Lynch on violin and Drazen Derek on guitar.
Although trained classically, Elva also fell in love with the jazz, folk, traditional and blues scene in Dublin and has been busy collaborating with different musicians to suit her style. She has since blended her knowledge of vocal performance with her love of old timey songs and traditional acoustic accompaniments.
