Treasured

Projection from Treasured

Treasured

A large-scale, site-specific installation telling the story of the Titanic in Liverpool's Anglican Church uses music by Ailís Ní Ríain.

Treasured is an audio-visual installation that recreates the Titanic’s maiden voyage at Liverpool’s Anglican Church. It explores both the realities of the lives of those who were on board, as well as the myths that have grown up around the event in the hundred years since the ship’s sinking. Based on the real conversations on passengers on the ship, the event uses film projection, music and even an aerialist show.

The music for event was written by Cork-born composer Ailís Ní Ríain, taking the form of pre-recorded live music played back alongside a live performance by
trumpet player Brendan Ball. There will be only eight performances of Treasured, taking place 1 – 6 October.
