RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra April Tours

The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra will tour Galway, Limerick and Cork with Barry Douglas, and Dublin and Sligo with Gautier Capuçon and Paul McCreesh, in April.

Gautier Capuçon

The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) will tour two separate programmes in April.

The first tour takes place from 12 to 14 April, and features the NSO being led from the keyboard by pianist Barry Douglas in Brahms’ first piano concerto, in addition to a performance under Douglas of the same composer’s fourth symphony. This programme will be performed in, in order, Galway, Limerick and Cork.

The second programme, which will be performed on 20 April at the National Concert Hall in Dublin and then again on 21 April in Sligo as part of Con Brio’s Sligo Music series, features cellist Gautier Capuçon in Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor, in addition to a performance of Beethoven’s sixth symphony, the ‘Pastoral’. Both pieces will be conducted by Paul McCreesh, founder and Director of the Gabrieli Consort & Players.
