The Feis Ceoil, Ireland’s annual competition for classical musicians, runs from 20 to 30 March this year. Now sponsored by Electric Ireland (for many years Siemens backed the event), the Feis Ceoil features nearly 200 seperate competitions, including prizes for solo and ensemble performance as well as composition.

Members of the public can attend the competition performances — categories include choral and solo singing, orchestras, strings, piano, organ, woodwind and brass. The events take place in the RDS, Dublin and various other venues in the Ballsbridge area. A day ticket costs €5. Participants can be ages seven and upwards.

The Feis Ceoil was founded in 1896 to support the development of music in Ireland. For a full list of events in this year’s competition, see the PDF here.
