Music Network, the Irish arts organisation, has announced the schedule for their spring 2012 concert tours of Ireland.

The January tour, which includes eight concerts across Ireland, will feature the debut of traditional fiddle player Martin Hayes’ new project, the Teetotalers, in which Hayes will collaborate with guitarist John Doyle and Lúnasa flute-player Kevin Crawford.

In February the Can Percussion Trio will travel around the country across 21—27 February, and will perform music on over thirty percussion instruments, including compositions by Steve Reich, Minoru Miki, N.J. Zivkovic, Kevin Tuck and Mathias Schmitt. The March tour presents the Fidelio Trio with clarinet player Carol McGonnell performing music by Brahms, Bartok and Olivier Messiaen, whilst in April Onyx Brass perform a wide-ranging programme, including a world premiere by Irish composer Andrew Hamilton.

Finally, in May, ‘Triùir * Tair * Triúgh * Three’, featuring Seosaimhín Ní Bheaglaoich, Siân James and Jenna Cumming, will perform concerts in which the shared musical traditions of the native-language communities in Ireland, Wales and Scotland will be celebrated.

Music Network tours are supported by the Arts Council and are presented in association with RTÉ Lyric FM.
