HWCH 10

The 2012 Hard Working Class Heroes festival takes place 4–6 October, with bands, industry events, and photography exhibitions.

The Hard Working Class Heroes festival, run each year by First Music Contact, is Ireland’s premiere annual A&R event, providing a unique chance to see just over a hundred new Irish bands and artists perform in venues across Dublin over three days. As this year marks the festival’s ten-year anniversary, the event is bigger than ever: in addition to the performances, there will be industry events, photography exhibitions, pop-up shops and a convention to discuss how the state of the country’s music industry has changed since HWCH’s beginning.

The festival takes place 4 – 6 October in venues across Dublin, including The Workman’s Club, The Grand Social, The Mercantile, Twisted Pepper, Meeting House Square, and The Button Factory. Some of the headlining bands include We Cut Corners, The Ambience Affair, Delorentos, Le Galaxie and The Last Days of 1984. The extensive line-up also includes artists such as Ginnels, TemperMental MissElayneous, Nanu Nanu, Pearse McGloughlin and the Nocturnes, Spook of the Thirteenth Lock and Si Schroeder. The full schedule of performances and industry events is available at the HWCH website.
