The Galway Music Residency Birthday Tour

John Feeley, Je Dongen Driest, Dave Flynn and the Galway Baroque Singers will each join the ConTempo Quartet for a celebratory tour around Ireland.

The Galway Music Residency – the programme that brought the ConTempo String Quartet to Galway in 2002 – is this year celebrating its 10th anniversary. In addition to the call for a composer-in-residence, the group will pair artists who have worked with the initiative over the last ten years with the ConTempo Quartet for a five-day tour, starting in Castlebar’s The Linenhall.

20 September: John Feeley (guitar), Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar

29 September: De Jongens Driest (brass trio), Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray.

19 October: Dave Flynn (composer-musician) and Eoghan O’Sullivan (traditional musician), Aula Maxima, University College Cork.

26 October: Galway Baroque Singers, St. Nicholas Collegiate Church, Galway.

Other events for the Galway Music Residency tenth anniversary celebrations include a CD and a 3-day festival in the National University of Ireland Galway, with performances and workshops.
