Debut album by fiddle-player Aoife Nic Cormaic

Dublin fiddle-player Aoife Nic Cormaic will launch her debut recording,  Cuas na bhFáinleog/The Hollow of the Swallowsthis evening at the Odessa Club. Featuring thirteen original compositions written, arranged and played by Nic Cormaic, the album also features Frank Tate (bouzouki), Steve Larkin (fiddle), Kevin Murphy (cello) and Paul Conlon (bodhrán).

Nic Cormaic has toured with artists such as Kíla, Phil Callery and Aoife Ní Fhearraigh. As well as being a musician, she has made television documentaries for TG4. Concerto Caitlín Maude, which she wrote, directed and scored, won the IFTA for Best Irish Language Television Documentary in 2005 and also won Gradam Chumarsáide an Oireachtais. This was followed in 2006 by Aisling Gheal Uí Riada, a tribute to Seán Ó Riada. She also holds an MA in Traditional Music Performance from DIT (2011) and works as a radio producer in RTÉ.
