Charlie and Éilís Lennon, Síle Denvir and Neansaí Ní Choisdealbha are the guest musicians joining the students of the Diploma in Traditional Music NUI Galway tomorrow, 26 and Friday, 27 April, to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of Raidió na Gaeltachta at a concert in Seanscoil Sailearna, Indreabhán.

These are the final concerts of the students enrolled on the Diploma in Traditional Music 2011–2012 with Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, NUIG, and Stúideo Cuan in An Spidéal.  Not only will they perform songs and music that celebrate the music played on Raidió na Gaeltachta down through the years, but will also present some of the work they themselves have composed and arranged over the course of their academic programme.

The musicians who will be playing on the night are as follows: Cian Ó Griallais (guitar and song) from na hÁille in Indreabhán, Colm Ó Dúbháin (accordion) from An Aird Mhór, Eddie Loughlin (accordion) from Ceantar na nOileán, Edel Ní Churraoin (accordion and tin-whistle) from Coill Rua in Indreabhán, Máire Ní Ghiobúin (concertina) from Camus, Deirdre Ní Dhonncha (song and bodhrán) and Eilis Ní Mhuirneáin (song) both from An Cheathrú Rua.

The concerts, starting at 8pm on both nights, will be recorded for broadcast on Raidió na Gaeltachta at a later date. There is no cover charge but donations on the night will be collected for the Galway Hospice.
