Kirkos Ensemble Salon Performance

To take place on November 22nd at 8pm.

The recently established Kirkos Ensemble will perform in a salon event organised by the Contemporary Music Centre on Thursday, 22 November, at 8pm at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. Founded and run by students at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, the ensemble will play new works by Jonathan Nangle, Linda Buckley, Kevin O’Connell and Garrett Sholdice. The CMC’s salon events are informal performances, in which audience can engage in a dialogue with performers and composers.

The music of Kevin O’Connell, head of composition at the RIAM, has regularly featured on Kirkos Ensemble’s programmes. The recording below is of the composer’s his 2009 string quartet Where should this music be?, performed by Kirkos earlier this year.
