Ergodos Musicians 7-date Tour

Group to perform work from their album 'Songs' plus new arrangements.

Ergodos Musicians, the group that has emerged from the Ergodos record label and production company, is set to undertake a seven-date tour of Ireland.

Featuring the vocals of Michelle O’Rourke, the group also includes cellist and Crash Ensemble Artistic Director Kate Ellis, saxophonist Seán MacErlaine (also a member of This is How We Fly), and composers and Ergodos founders Garrett Sholdice and Benedict Schlepper-Connolly on keyboards and guitar respectively.

Ergodos’ set will consist of works from their 2014 album Songs, such as their unique arrangements of Richard Thompson’s ‘Beat the Retreat’ and The xx’s ‘Angels’, as well as a new work by Andrew Hamilton and arrangements of O’Carolan and Handel.

The group will perform in Dundrum, Carrick-on-Shannon, Clifden, Carlow, Bray, Tralee and Waterford between 3 and 11 February.

Among Ergodos’ other upcoming projects is the curation of a concert of Irish music in London dedicated to the late Bob Gilmore. The concert takes place on 2 March at Café OTO and features the work of Jennifer Walshe, Kevin Volans, Donnacha Dennehy and more. The label has also recently released recordings of work by Simon O’Connor, Volans, Frankie Gavin and Malachy Bourke, and Christoper Fox and Anton Lukoszevieze.
