Fingal County Council Arts Office, in collaboration with Music Network, has launched a new residency for local musicians. The Carnegie Musician-in-Residence Award will be hosted at Carnegie Library in Swords and provide a musician or group with time, space and resources to create new work and engage with the local community.
The residency, scheduled from July to October 2025, will award €6,000 along with access to workspace and mentoring. It will culminate in a public concert showcasing the residency’s outcomes.
Applicants must have at least two years of professional experience and must either live, work, be originally from, or have studied a relevant discipline in Fingal County. An online information session will take place on 29 April and a site visit on 30 April.
Commenting on the announcement Sarah O’Neill, County Arts Officer for Fingal County Council, said that ‘The award will offer professional Fingal musicians an opportunity to develop, create and showcase new work as we build towards the development of the Swords Cultural Quarter.’ The Swords Cultural Quarter is scheduled to open in 2027.
