Arts Council Announces €925k for Music and Arts Festivals

Dinny Delaney (1841–1919) – The Dinny Delaney Festival of Uilleann Pipers, which celebrates the Ballinasloe piper, has been funded for the first time by the Arts Council.

Arts Council Announces €925k for Music and Arts Festivals

59 festivals have been funded across 16 counties.

The Arts Council has announced funding of €924,989 for music and arts festivals taking place between January and June 2022.

The Council received 73 applications for Round 1 of the Festival Investment Scheme of which 59 festivals have been funded across 16 counties. The average grant has risen by 9% on the previous year  to €15,677.

The funding amounts range from €2,500 to €35,000 and among the music festival recipients are the Dinny Delaney Festival of Uilleann Pipers (funded for the first time by the Council), Open Ear, the Dublin International Chamber Music Festival, Féile Nasc, Féile Róise Rua and Ortús Festival.

Round 2 of the Festival Investment Scheme, for festivals taking place between July and December 2022, will open for applications on 19 October 2021. The deadline is 18 November at 5.30pm.
