6 New Musician Residencies Available in Music Network 'Resonate' Scheme

New initiative offers a grant of between €6,000 and €10,000 and a residency in Ennis, Baile Bhúirne, Wexford, Cork City, Carrick-on-Shannon or Letterkenny.

Music Network has launched a new national residency scheme for professional musicians. Resonate – which is being run in partnership with Glór (Ennis), Ionad Cultúrtha (Baile Mhúirne), The National Opera House (Wexford), Triskel Arts Centre (Cork City), The Dock (Carrick-on-Shannon) and the Regional Cultural Centre (Letterkenny) – will award six musicians grants of €6,000 to €10,000. 

The scheme aims to provide the musicians with the time and resources to develop new work; to facilitate new collaborations; to create performance opportunities; to create concerts for live audiences and digital means; and to foster relationships between musicians and venue partners. 

Resonate will provide the musicians-in-residence with a financial grant; a concert in November 2021; up to ten development days in one of the partner venues and a further two days prior to the concert; an audio-visual recording of the performance of their new work; promotion on Music Network’s social channels and website, and support from Music Network and the partner venues throughout the residency.  

Commenting on the new scheme, Music Network CEO Sharon Rollston said:

Music Network is very pleased to be embarking on this new venture with six of our partner venues to create brand new opportunities for professional musicians. Resonate is our most extensive residency programme to date and will provide musicians with the vital time, space and income needed to develop exciting new work for sharing with audiences in due course.

Individual musicians with a strong track record in music performance, and who are currently living in the Republic of Ireland, are invited to apply. Musicians performing as part of a group, or who wish to form a new collaboration, are also encouraged to apply. 

The deadline for applications is 24 June at 2pm.
