Arts Council England to Match-Fund €10k Crowdfunded Support for Music Education Projects

'Our Music Crowd' programme will use Spacehive crowdfunding site and meet funds for Music Education Hubs up to £10k.

Arts Council England has recently launched a programme that will assist Music Education Hubs in raising funds for their work through online crowdfunding. The ‘Our Music Crowd’ programme will help Hubs in developing crowdfunding skills, running campaigns and generating pledges, and match-fund up to a maximum of £10,000 for successful projects.

Music Education Hubs are groups of organisations such as schools, local authorities, arts organisations and community groups that provide music education services and activites for young people. The London-based company Spacehive, in a collaboration with ACE, will work with the Music Education Hubs, helping them to use the platform and run a crowdfunding campaign.

Crowdfunding campaigns are already underway for twenty-seven projects across England, which aim to raise a combined £300,000. Projects include a pop-up music studio in Stratford, a sensory music space for young people with special educational needs in Swindon and a local record label in Dorset.

To participate in the programme, Music Education Hubs should apply with ideas for projects that involve young people up to age 25 in their local area. To find out more, visit www.spacehive.com.
