Thursday, 20 April 2023, 4.00pm

The Galway City Council Arts Office is offering two artists residing in Galway City the opportunity to spend two weeks at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre.

The bursary allows artists to spend two weeks at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre and covers all board and lodging expenses, as well as the use of a studio if required. Further details about The Tyrone Guthrie Centre can be found at www.tyroneguthrie.ie.

The primary objective of the bursary is to support a diverse range of artists in accessing quality time and space to invest in their personal, professional and art practices. It also aims to support artists in sharing their work with the communities from which they come, through exhibitions, performances, readings, and other public outcomes. In addition, the bursary aims to strengthen the Tyrone Guthrie Centre’s partnerships with local authorities and act as a major cross-border collaboration between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Individual Creative Practitioners working in various disciplines, including Architecture, Sound Art, Community Arts, Theatre, Circus, Traditional Arts, Digital arts, Multi-disciplinary, Dance, Music, Festival, Opera, Film & Video, Visual Art, and Literature are eligible for the bursary. The bursary is open only to those living in Galway City Council’s administrative area, and applicants must be over the age of 21.
