Lecturer in Musical Performance and Digital Arts

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Musical Performance and Digital Arts in the Department of Music, School of Performing and Digital Arts. This is a permanent post. Start date: 1 September 2020.

Applicants for this post will be practitioners whose performing and scholarly expertise will complement and enhance activity within the Music Department through delivery of class teaching and directing student ensembles. They will be an active researcher (in areas such as digital arts and/or performance practices, pursued through critical, historical, theoretical or practice-based work) with innovative outputs and a developing international profile of distinction.

It is highly desirable that their work includes potential for collaboration within aspects of the School’s interdisciplinary opportunities – in theatre and/or media arts – in both teaching and research. Applicants should also be able to contribute to the teaching of historical and/or theoretical areas of the undergraduate music curriculum.

The post-holder will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, supervise research students, contribute to examinations and assessment processes, provide pastoral support of students, and play a role in the administrative functions of the department and the school.
