The Creative Places Award supports initiatives in towns, villages, and rural areas with fewer opportunities for arts participation.

The award has three strands: Strand 1 offers up to €335,000 over three years for new applicants who have completed the Research and Development phase. Strand 2 is for existing Creative Places recipients entering Phase 2, with funding between €70,000 and €90,000 per year. Strand 3 supports applicants who have completed the first year of Phase 2, with similar funding of €70,000 to €90,000 per year.
