Fabre Ensemble present Spanish Choral Masterpieces
Fabre Ensemble are delighted to announce their debut concert of choral chamber music at St Mary’s Cathedral, Killarney on Saturday, 10 September at 4pm with support from Kerry County Council and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
Fabre ensemble are a new early music ensemble of five singers specialising in Iberian Renaissance choral music with a particular emphasis on the music of Cristóbal de Morales. Founding member of Fabre is local singer and musician Leanne Fitzgerald who is from Lixnaw in North Kerry.
“I am thrilled to be able to present this concert and launch our new ensemble Fabre in Killarney this September. Renaissance music has such a rich and vibrant character and it’s not often that it is performed in Co. Kerry. The playful nature of the way the voices interact with each other within the music means it will be such a rare treat for audiences to experience it in a space as grand as St Mary’s Cathedral. With thanks to Kerry County Council and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, this concert will be a free event with no pre-booking necessary.” - Leanne Fitzgerald
The concert titled ‘Spanish Choral Masterpieces’ will be conducted by Ciarán Kelly and will feature singers Judith Lyons (soprano), Dominica Williams (mezzo soprano), Leanne Fitzgerald (alto), Rory Lynch (tenor) and Daniel Beuster (bass). This event is supported by the new Local Live Performance Programming Scheme funded by Kerry County Council and the Department of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
