BBC Studios is looking for a Deputy Head of Development to cover maternity leave on a 12 month Fixed Term contract, based in Bristol. You will assist in leading our busy Unscripted Development team under the Factual Entertainment and Events division. Reporting to the Head of Development and the Creative Director for Development this role will manage the budding slate and maintain consistency with the team help to ensure they are on track whilst the Head of Development focuses on strategy and working up projects in their final stages and a targeted push into other regions on behalf of the Genre MD.

Only candidates with previous experience at Development Executive or Senior Development Producer level will be considered so please do not apply if you do not have this experience.

The ideal candidate will also bring previous experience developing content in the Factual Entertainment realm and have experience with getting formatted fact ent ideas across the line. They will have existing commissioner relationships and understand the Development sphere in the South West area, utilising and spotting talent opportunities to devise content ideas to suit a variety of channels, platforms and audience needs.

Start date is June 2020.

Once restrictions are lifted this role must be based within our BBC Bristol offices. Other locations will not be considered.
