The Creative Youth Nurture Fund is a pilot scheme that seeks to support cultural, artistic and creative engagement by young people aged between 6-24 years. The fund will be available for two years and will allocate a total of €500,000 to 8-10 pilot projects in the Republic of Ireland. The duration of these projects will be between 18-24 months, with budgets ranging from €50,000 — €90,000.

Organisations, individuals or partnerships with experience of working with young people living with physical or intellectual disabilities, refugees and asylum-seekers, mental health issues, LGBTI+, Traveller and Roma communities, those within, or transitioning from, the care system, or engaged with the youth justice system/ incarcerated persons and ex-offenders (up to age 24) are invited to submit proposals.

The Creative Ireland Programme seeks projects that involve young people in decision making and that promote access to culture, creativity and the arts. The programme encourages creative or interpretive expression across a range of sectors, including traditional or contemporary forms of circus, film, literature, creative writing, music (all genres), dance (all types), street arts and spectacle theatre, traditional arts, visual arts, cultural heritage, cooking, animation, architecture, podcasting, graffiti, augmented and virtual reality, fashion, comedy, design, games and other creative digital technology, and multidisciplinary arts.

Applicants must demonstrate how they will reach and support young people who experience barriers to accessing creative opportunities, as well as how they will ensure children and young people are involved in decision making. Successful applicants will also need to outline their plans for supporting engagement across different forms of creativity and how they will evaluate and report on the process and outcomes, with input from the children and young people involved.

The deadline for applications is Friday, June 9, 2023, at 5:00 PM, and applicants are required to read the briefing document before submitting their proposal.
