Poet in Residence

Poet in Residence

Friday, 19 March 2021, 5.00pm

The National Library of Ireland, in partnership with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and the Decade of Centenaries Programme, seeks to appoint a poet in residence to creatively engage with, and produce original work inspired by, two of our Commemorations-themed projects; the recent exhibition From Turmoil to Truce and the major cataloguing and digitisation project, Towards a Republic. This will be a key element of the Decade of Centenaries Programme 2021-2023.

It is envisaged that the project will span 12 months, from May 2021-May 2022. During this time the poet will work remotely, and onsite if restrictions allow, to create a series of poems (number to be confirmed) and participate in a range of online public engagement activities such as talks, panel discussions, readings and workshops.
