Friday, 5 March 2021, 1.00pm

Galway Music Residency’s From Europe with Love is back with its first instalment of 2021 on Friday 5 February at 1pm. From Europe with Love is an ambitious 3-year project presenting monthly lunchtime concerts exploring string quartet repertoire from all 27 EU member countries. The series draws to a close in December 2021. Friday’s edition celebrates all things Estonia and will be available for FREE on Facebook and YouTube.

ConTempo Quartet will perform a varied programme, showcasing the very best of 20th and 21st Century Estonian music. The programme will include from works by composers Ester Mägi, Tõnu Kõrvits, and of course Estonian maestro Arvo Pärt. With a focus on patterns and repetition this concert will offer audiences a moment of peace at lunchtime.

Galway Music Residency is honoured that this event will be introduced by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Ireland, Aino Lepik von Wirén. Though a live audience is not possible, the lunchtime concert will be broadcast online from the beautiful Oughterard Courthouse.
