Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra Summer Performance
‘Baroque Dances: From the Sublime to the Bizarre’
Saturday, 27 July 2019, 5pm – St Ann’s Church, Dawson Street, Dublin 2
Fifteen of Ireland’s finest young string, wind, and harpsichord musicians have been selected to play in this year’s Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra – a week-long music course where young musicians with a penchant for historical performance practice can hone their talents under the guidance of artistic director Claire Duff and other baroque specialists from the Irish Baroque Orchestra. The course will this year culminate in a concert taking place in St Ann’s Church, Dawson Street, Dublin on Saturday 27 July at 5pm.
The programme for the 2019 concert series focuses on baroque dance music, in all its wondrous forms and guises and will include Corelli’s Concerto Grosso in F major, Handel’s Passacaille in G major and Ouverture ‘La Bizarre’ in G major by Georg Philipp Telemann.
Tickets are €15 / €10 concessions and will be available on the door before the concert. The Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra is funded by the Arts Council.
