The Model is currently seeking applications for the position of Programme Assistant (Exhibitions). The Programme Assistant role provides administrative support to the Curatorial team on the delivery of the exhibitions programme, and assists with the care and management of The Niland Collection. The Programme Assistant looks after the day-to-day correspondence of the curatorial dept, makes arrangements to support artists, and plays a key role in ensuring that information on exhibitions is available to invigilators, staff and volunteers. Competence in written and verbal communication, numeric and computer skills, and an enjoyment of working with the public are essential. The ideal candidate will be able to work alone as well as within a team environment, will have a responsible, flexible and conscientious attitude, and will value attention to detail. Occasional weekend and evening work are required and this position requires flexibility.

The position is available under the Dept of Social Protection’s Community Employment scheme and requires nineteen and a half hours per week. This is an entry level position which will enable the selected candidate to gain experience of working in an arts environment. Training will be provided, though a background in Art, Art History or the Humanities will be an advantage.
