Lá na Cruite | Harp Day 2022

Lá na Cruite | Harp Day 2022

Saturday, 15 October 2022, 9.00am

This year Lá na Cruite│Harp Day takes place on Saturday 15th October 2022 and Harp Ireland | Cruit Éireann are calling on harpers, promoters, teachers and music-lovers to join in the celebrations by planning a live event or by participating in one of Harp Day's online initiatives.

The theme for Lá na Cruite | Harp Day 2022 is HARPS TOGETHER. With so much division in the world, we are shining a spotlight on music’s ability to unite us. We are placing the harp at the heart of a celebration that will bring communities of people together, embracing musical and cultural differences and showcasing the glorious diversity of Ireland today. We warmly encourage harpers, event organisers and participants to play with this theme and to make it their own.

We are also celebrating the 230th anniversary of the 1792 Belfast Harpers’ Assembly in 2022, and Lá na Cruite | Harp Day offers the perfect opportunity for harpers to acknowledge the invaluable legacy left by Edward Bunting and the Assembly on the Irish harping tradition.

If you’d like to plan a Lá na Cruite | Harp Day 2022 event in your area on Saturday 15th October then Harp Ireland | Cruit Éireann would love to hear from you. Find out more at the link below.
