Áras Éanna, the arts centre located on the Gaeltacht island of Inis Oírr in Co Galway, is pleased to announce an open call for artists to apply for residencies in 2024.

The Artist in Residence programme at Áras Éanna offers selected artists the opportunity to dedicate time and space to the development of their artistic practice and the presentation of new works. Inis Oírr, with its population of under 300 people, provides a unique environment that serves as an inspiring backdrop for artistic exploration.

Artists from diverse backgrounds are invited to apply for residency on Inis Oírr, where Áras Éanna offers up to ten residencies each year. The residencies include various provisions to facilitate the artists’ creative process. These include accommodation, dedicated studio space, and access to theatre facilities and galleries. In addition, successful applicants will receive a stipend to support their artistic endeavors during the residency.

Interested artists are encouraged to submit their applications by 5 pm on Thursday, 31st August 2023.
