Assisted by Angels - Women composers from Bingen to Bingham

Composers who are female are not rare. They are just too rarely performed, even today.

The words of Jessica Duchen in the article Best Female Composers of All Time published in March 2023.
And the Gaudete Singers are about to right that wrong with a concert devoted to women composers.
Spanning a millennium from Hildegard von Bingen born in 1098 to Judith Bingham still composing today, women have been composing and performing music in all the intervening centuries.

So come along and hear a selection of works by some of the best - Hildegard von Bingen, Caterina Assandra, Clara Schumann, Amy Beach, Susan Spain-Dunk, Imogen Holst, Betty Roe, Judith Weir and Judith Bingham.

We hope to see you there and please join us for a glass of wine after the concert.
Tickets on the door: €20, conc. €15, students €5, all including a glass of wine or soft drink afterwards.
