Galway International Arts Festival

Sam Perkin’s bold new hybrid symphony Children in the Universe journeys “to a place where only music can, where with open ears, we can dream.” This work for ensemble and halo track was commissioned by Crash. This performance features Crash Artist in Residence, Diamanda Le Berge Dramm as soloist, with visuals by Galway native Laura Sheeran and conducted by Crash Principal Conductor, Ryan McAdams.

For this concert Crash perform a selection of our [REACTIONS] commissions alongside a new work Standing Water by Kevin Terry. As the global pandemic hit, Crash commissioned Irish and international composers from a range of musical backgrounds to write new works for duos within the group. Building on existing collaborative partnerships and nurturing new relationships, composers were invited to create a musical response to their experiences, the current state and their thoughts for the future.
