Something of a Christmas stocking, recital number twenty one: from the moral and musical dilemma posed by the lengthy Der Gott und die Bajadere to two of the finest of the Ossian settings, Cronnan and Das Mädchen von Inistore, as well as a host of shorter songs which demonstrate Schubert’s mastery of the miniature, in particular his settings of poetry by Gabriele von Baumberg.
