Glyndebourne is inviting applications for the role of Archive Project Cataloguer, to join its Art & Collections team on a fixed-term contract. This position offers either part-time (3 days per week over 12 months) or full-time (5 days per week over 7 months) employment from July 2024. The successful candidate will be tasked with cataloguing the Archive Collection’s extensive correspondence and ephemera from Glyndebourne’s first thirty years (1934–1964), supporting the development and care of its internationally significant collections.

Applicants should have significant experience in cataloguing and digitising large and complex archive collections, a strong knowledge of cataloguing and collections care, excellent communication skills, and a meticulous attention to detail. Essential skills include demonstrable IT proficiency, manual dexterity for object handling, and the ability to work sensitively and discreetly with colleagues and external contacts.

Responsibilities include sorting, classifying, cataloguing, and numbering archives, creating records, scanning and digitising material, and ensuring proper storage and preservation. Candidates must hold a degree in a related discipline or have extensive experience in a cataloguing role, with desirable qualifications including a postgraduate qualification in Archives and/or Record Management.
