Community Relations Officer (Part-time)

Friday, 24 September 2021, 5.00pm

Linenhall Arts Centre is hiring a part-time Community Relations Officer.

The ideal candidate will have experience in engaging and working with a diverse variety of local groups, particularly people or groups who do not currently engage with the arts. A candidate with an interest in the arts is desirable. A good listener and communicator is essential.

The Community Relations Officer will:
a) research, identify and collate information on groups, networks and gatekeepers amongst Castlebar communities (and further afield)
b) forge new connections and facilitate communications between these groups and the Linenhall
c) provide administrative support to the Linenhall in relation to these sessions including organising and management of sessions, and other research and recording as appropriate
d) use initiative to support the project with ideas and suggestions as appropriate
e) be comfortable consulting with children to ensure they have a voice in informing Linenhall strategy

This is a hands-on role and involves overseeing many aspects of bridging new relationships between the Linenhall and groups in the locality. The Linenhall does not currently have the capacity to do this work and is outsourcing this role. The goal is to use the results of this project in the long-term to provide better services to everyone in the community. The project is funded by the Arts Council of Ireland.
