CARA are a unique quintet hailing from Ireland, Scotland and Germany, fronted by two female lead singers, who perform innovative arrangements of material firmly rooted in the Irish and Scottish traditions alongside critically acclaimed original songs and tunes.

CARA are delighted to announce their first Irish tour with new member and world bodhrán champion Aimee Farrell Courtney.

Audiences can expect innovative arrangements of material firmly rooted in the Irish and Scottish traditions, critically acclaimed original songs and tunes, and several brand new pieces. Uplifting, energising and expressive, with lead vocalists Gudrun Walther (Germany) and Kim Edgar (Scotland) alongside piano, fiddle, flute, whistles, guitar, uilleann pipes, accordion and bodhrán, CARA have been described as “a whole festival wrapped up in one band” (Bruce MacGregor, BBC Radio Scotland).

Winners of the Irish Music Awards for “Best New Irish Artist” (2010) and “Top Group” (2011), CARA have toured the USA seven times, headlining at some of the country’s biggest festivals, including Milwaukee Irish Fest, Kansas City Irish Fest, ICONS, and Dublin Irish Fest.
