Evenings of folk music and song don’t get much better than spending your time in the company of the unwavering trio of Mike McGoldrick, John Doyle, and John McCusker.

Renowned for their respective, highly accomplished solo music, the trio have also between them played with the likes of Joan Baez, Mark Knopfler, Paul Weller, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Tim O’Brien, and Zakir Hussain. No matter how in-demand Mike, John, and John may be, for each of them connecting with and enthralling audiences as a trio remains a deeply rewarding constant in their performing calendars.

They first played together as part of the enduring Transatlantic Sessions in 2007 – they still do – and then, recognising how closely their music and thinking chimed, branched out as a trio in 2009. Mike, John, and John have to date made two acclaimed studio albums The Wishing Tree (2018) and The Reed That Bends in the Storm (2020), and three live albums, one, Live, from their first year (released in 2012) and two during the pandemic, At Home This Spring - Live and Christmas at Home - Live 2020.

Steeped in Irish and Scottish traditional music, the trio will treat you an abundance of instrumental and vocal riches, playing varying blends of, flute, fiddle, guitar, uilleann pipes, whistles, bouzouki and harmonium.

McGoldrick, Doyle, and McCusker will draw you in whether they are locking-in together on an array of tunes - from exhilarating, driving reels to evocative slow airs – or sharing captivating traditional and self-penned songs.

‘It takes a lifetime of playing to sound as effortless as these guys’ - Rob Adams, The Herald
Landless are Ruth Clinton, Méabh Meir, Sinead Lynch and Lily Power. They sing unaccompanied traditional songs from Irish, Scottish, English and American traditions in close four-part harmony. Their repertoire features old songs of love, death, and lamentation, as well as work songs, shape-note hymns, and some more recent folk songs.

Their debut album, Bleaching Bones was released in March 2018. Recorded by John ‘Spud’ Murphy (Lankum/Katie Kim) in a series of reverb-heavy historic churches across Ireland (and the occasional underground tunnel), Bleaching Bones is an immaculately performed and deeply moving record. Landless have performed in a variety of settings, both in Ireland and abroad, and have a second album soon to be ready for release.

Unfortunately, there is no lift access in this venue.
