BBC Ymphony Orchestra seeks a Principal 1st Violin No.3.

Main Responsibilities
– To sit as Principal 1st Violin, no3, doubling and stepping-up as required.
– To have excellent solo and orchestral playing abilities, maintaining the highest musical standards.
– To be an effective and committed team player, demonstrating leadership as required, and to play a full role in the life of the Orchestra.
– This job requires travelling throughout the UK and touring overseas as well as evening and weekend work patterns.

Are you the right candidate?
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
– Excellent professional orchestral and solo playing abilities, maintaining the highest musical standards.
– Knowledge of the range of repertoire of the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
– Ability to work collaboratively to inspire and contribute to performances that meet the highest musical standards.
– Good interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and develop harmonious working relationships with a diverse range of people.
– Commitment to maintain the reputation of the Orchestra.

Repertoire for audition:
1st Movement (with cadenza) of a Mozart Concerto
&
1st Movement of a Romantic Concerto

Plus prepared orchestral excerpts and sight reading
Auditions are likely to be held in London on some of the following dates: April 19, 25, 26.
