The West Cork Chamber Music Young Composers’ Competition is open for entries from Irish and Irish-resident composers under 35.

Submissions must be scored for string quartet (2 violins, 1 viola, and 1 cello) with a duration of 5–8 minutes. Works should not have been previously performed in concert and must be submitted electronically by 23:59 on 12th March 2025. Each of the three winning composers will receive €1,000, three nights’ accommodation during the festival, and two public performances of their work, including a world premiere. The competition will be judged anonymously, and results will be announced in April 2025. Composers must agree to attend a workshop during the festival from 27 June to 6 July 2025.
