Artist in Residence 2023

Artist in Residence 2023

Friday, 21 April 2023, 5.00pm

In 2023, Roscommon Arts Centre plans to offer additional residency opportunities under the “AIR Programme” through an Open Call. The programme includes three residency opportunities: “New Voice,” “Start,” and “Middle.”

“New Voice” aims to connect with artists underrepresented in the programme, such as ethnic minorities, Black artists, LGBTQ+ artists/companies, and d/Deaf, vision impaired or disabled artists/companies. This residency follows the previous year’s initiative to offer a second new voice artist a residency opportunity at the centre.

“Start” offers artists the chance to begin, develop or explore a new idea, project, or body of work. Recipients will benefit from time and space in a studio/workshop setting with access to mentored support and resources, provided they fulfil at least one of the residency criteria outlined.

“Middle” targets artists or collectives who have already initiated new projects or works and would now benefit from further support. This assistance aims to facilitate progress on their projects, potentially leading to a Project or similar Arts Council award or direct support from Roscommon Arts Centre in 2024.

All residencies will take place over a two-month period, starting in Summer 2023. They will include an artist fee and an allowance for travel and accommodation.
