The Cúirt New Writing Prize 2025 is open for submissions in poetry, short fiction, and Irish-language categories.

Sponsored by Tigh Neachtain in memory of Lena McGuire, the competition offers a €500 prize for each category winner and an opportunity to read at the 40th Cúirt International Festival of Literature, taking place in Galway from 8–13 April 2025. Judges include Wendy Erskine, Victoria Kennefick, and Liam Carson.

Entries must follow specific guidelines: poetry submissions require three poems under 50 lines each, while short fiction should not exceed 2,000 words. The entry fee is €10 per submission, and a limited number of subsidised entries are available.

Submissions close on 31 January 2025 at 5 pm.
