Ryan Molloy and The Duncairn Trad Collective (feat. Sinéad McKenna, Sorcha Stockman, Brendan Kerr, Brendan Loughran, Mia O'Donnell and Jude Scott) @ Belfast TradFest Winter Weekend
The Duncairn Trad Collective is a project which brings together some of the city's most outstanding young musicians to work with established artists in the creation of new work. Funded by Belfast City Council, the project explores unusual spaces for music performance in Belfast's urban landscape and brings Irish traditional music to new audiences.
Composer and pianist Ryan Molloy is widely recognised as one of the masters of modern accompaniment in Irish traditional music. His compositions, rooted in the language of Irish traditional music, have been performed by world-leading ensembles. As a performer he is regularly seen alongside Iarla Ó Lionáird, Neil Martin, Fergal Scahill and Shauna Mullin.
The Duncairn Trad Collective has a rotating membership, which for this event will feature Sinéad McKenna (fiddle), Sorcha Stockman (fiddle), Brendan Kerr (guitar), Brendan Loughran (concertina), Mia O'Donnell (flute/vocals) and Jude Scott (flute).
