The Arts Council, in collaboration with Create, the national agency for collaborative arts, introduces the Artist in the Community Scheme. This initiative offers grants twice annually, aiming to foster a partnership between artists and communities of place or interest.

The programme welcomes artists from various disciplines, including music, literature (both Irish and English), visual arts, dance, and more. Projects under this scheme may emerge in diverse social and community settings such as arts and health, arts and disability, and cultural diversity. Emphasis is placed on ensuring mutual consultation between the artist and the community, retaining collective ownership of the project at all stages.

Applications close at 17:00 on Monday 25 September 2023, with a maximum award of €15,000.
