Rhiannon Giddens
Singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer Rhiannon Giddens will be performing at the Barbican, UK, on 21 February 2024.
In addition to her upcoming live performances, Giddens has announced her third studio album, 'You’re The One,' which will be her first solo album release in six years. The twelve-song collection mixes was produced by Jack Splash and features a large ensemble of Giddens’ musical collaborators.
Giddens’ previous work, 'They’re Calling Me Home,' was awarded the Grammy for Best Folk Album in 2022. She has also made her debut with the Nashville Ballet in PBS’ Great Performances, and released a children’s book, 'Build A House,' inspired by a song she wrote for Juneteenth.
Giddens is also a recent Pulitzer Prize recipient for her opera, Omar. This acclaimed piece, co-written with Michael Abels, is based on the life of Omar Ibn Said, an enslaved Muslim man from the 19th century.
Tickets for the Barbican show are available from Friday, 19 May.
