Glyndebourne is seeking a Development & Events Assistant to join their busy Development department. The successful candidate will assist in planning and delivering a diverse programme of donor and sponsorship events throughout the Glyndebourne Summer Festival. Additionally, the role involves supporting the development team with administrative tasks related to fundraising and donor stewardship, including database management.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
– Support the Development Events Manager in the operational aspects of all sponsorship events.
– Provide hands-on assistance at events during the Glyndebourne Summer Festival, including meeting and greeting guests and name-taking.
– Manage guest lists and invitations, ensuring internal processes are followed for sending and recording invitations and managing attendance records on the CRM database.
– Process VIP dining requests and handle general donor inquiries.
– Assist the development department with other tasks, such as prospect research and database input.

Essential skills and experience:
– A proactive attitude.
– Enthusiasm, motivation, and a willingness to learn.
– Good time management and organisational skills.
– Ability to work well within a team.
– Attention to detail and accurate data input.
– Proficiency in MS Word, including mail merge and Excel.
– Good interpersonal and communication skills.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Special requirements:
This position will require frequent shift work (afternoon and evenings) and weekend working between May and August, as well as some offsite work to support events outside Glyndebourne.
