The Guildhall School is seeking a Head of Vocal Arts to lead the integration and development of its Vocal and Opera Studies departments. This full-time, permanent position offers a salary range of £67,140–£76,100 per annum, including London Weighting, dependent on experience and performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the department’s faculty, students, curriculum, and performance programme. They will manage the Opera and Vocal teams, including the Head of Opera and Deputy Head of Vocal Studies, fostering greater collaboration and introducing new initiatives within the Vocal Arts offer.

Applicants should have significant experience and expertise in vocal/music education and practice, particularly in Western classical vocal music and opera. They should also demonstrate a commitment to embracing broader cultural influences, contemporary trends, and advancements in vocal performance. The role requires a leader with creative vision, dedication to performer health and wellbeing, and a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive management skills, the ability to connect with musical networks across various levels, and a desire to contribute to the creative direction of the Music Division at Guildhall.
