Inspired by some of the most beloved cities, the Panorama Series brings audiences on a musical tour exploring place and the music it inspired.

Flautists Sinéad Farrell (National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland) and Silvija Ščerbavičiūtė (RTÉ Concert Orchestra) join Irish cellist Paul Grennan (Hallé Orchestra) for a sojourn in London.

With its bustling music scene, London provided huge inspiration to both Stamitz and Haydn. Stamitz published his rarely performed Op. 14 during his stay in the city, around 1780 and offered them for sale to “Nobility, Gentry, Music Masters, and others”. Haydn’s London sojourn came a little later, but his influence can certainly be heard in Stamitz’s work. At this time, the flute was enjoying a period of immense popularity and Haydn took up the mantle with 4 glorious Trios and Six Divertimenti, which have become favourites for flute and music lovers all over the world.
