Publishing Ireland is inviting applications for The Breakthrough Award, an opportunity for individuals from underrepresented backgrounds to gain entry into the Irish publishing industry.

The award includes free access to Publishing Ireland events and training, visits to publishing companies, paid work placements, and a day trip to the London Book Fair. Applicants must reside in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland and identify as being from a community currently underrepresented in Irish publishing. No prior industry experience is required.

Applications must be submitted by 2 September 2024. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed over Zoom, with the winner announced on 18 September 2024.
