Job Summary
The Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University (CSU) seeks an exceptional violin teacher and performer to begin August 2020.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate must recruit, maintain, and teach a studio of violin students, including students pursing undergraduate degrees, the Master of Music degree, and the Artist Diploma; build relationships with local, regional, and national performing arts series; maintain an active performance schedule; coordinate auditions, chamber music and ensemble assignments, juries, and related matters with the strings faculty and ensemble conductors; teach one or more sections of music appreciation or other academic courses needed for the delivery of the curriculum as determined by the director of the Schwob School of Music; deliver instruction as needed in the areas of violin pedagogy, violin literature, preparation of orchestral excerpts, audition preparation, and chamber music literature; coach chamber ensembles; build relationships with local, regional, and national strings-related professional organizations; integrate with the other violin studio in pedagogical approach and student recruitment; maintain relationships with local music educators in the strings area; and perform with faculty colleagues in chamber music repertoire.

Required Qualifications
Candidates should have an earned Master’s degree in violin or significant professional experience in lieu of the degree.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates with additional advanced study, broad experience in solo performance, orchestral section leadership, chamber music performance, and experience teaching music appreciation.
