
Lyra McKee Investigative Journalism Bursary 2025
The Press Council of Ireland and the Office of the Press Ombudsman are offering the Lyra McKee Bursary Scheme 2025 to support aspiring journalists from underrepresented backgrounds in Ireland and the UK.
The five-month programme, created in memory of investigative journalist Lyra McKee, provides training, mentorship, and the opportunity to attend the #CIJSummer Investigative Journalism Conference. The bursary includes mentoring sessions, investigative journalism training, and a Pitch to the Editors session. Applicants must be 18 or older and reside in the UK or Republic of Ireland. The scheme encourages applications from individuals from working-class backgrounds, people of colour, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, carers, and members of the Traveller community.
