The Innovate for Ireland Programme is offering PhD funding through two streams: Thematic Cohort and Industry Partnership.

The programme aims to attract global research and entrepreneurship talent to Ireland to address sustainability challenges. The 2025 thematic areas for the Thematic Cohort stream include Climate Change Mitigation and Sustainable Aviation & Energy Transition, with topics such as decarbonising various industries, sustainable finance, and clean tech. The Industry Partnership stream allows applications for research related to any of the thematic areas.

Both streams include a common Entrepreneurial, Leadership & Innovation Programme. The expression of interest deadline is 19th February 2025, and the full application deadline is 19th March 2025.
